Coco McPherson (she/her) is a New York-based journalist and photographer reporting on labor, housing and the environment for Capital & Main, Gothamist, Hell Gate, Vibe, Fast Company, Rolling Stone, and The Village Voice, where she was also a weekly columnist. As a Claremont Documentary Project Fellow, McPherson spent a year collaborating with Bronx teenagers to tell community stories using photography. Those collaborations are ongoing.
McPherson's photographs have been exhibited at Photoville in San Francisco, at the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, and at metropolitan-area galleries including the Bronx Documentary Center. She is a longtime darkroom student of master printer, Brian Young.
